I have been extra busy lately… on top of my regular wifely/motherly duties (cooking, cleaning, loving, encouraging, teaching, playing, etc. – Duh, like you didn’t know what regular wifely/motherly duties were)…
Well… I’ve been busy except for the glorious outdoor nap I took on Sunday (Abigail grabbed her own section of the yard).

Anyway, on top of those things (normal duties… and napping on Sunday), I’ve been – preparing speeches, writing guest posts for the blog book tour, answering questions for the blog book tour, and well, my mind has been a little preoccupied with something!

So yesterday, spontaneously (and because of a need for exercise), while out running errands, the kids and I decided we’d go to the zoo. It was a bit breezy (brrr…) but it was good – really good. Refreshing! Good for the bod and good for the soul. I loved watching my kids run through the deserted zoo and marvel over the weird animals.
Check out this turtle. I kid you not – this turtle liked diving and smooshing it’s face on the glass… it did this over and over!
Anyway, after having a delightful day, and watching The Voice last night (Tony Evans son, Anthony Evans, is an amazing singer! WOW!)… I was up on my computer (preparing for my April 5th speaking engagement) until 1:00 am.
I was quite tired by then, but I wanted to finish it up so I could start rehearsing it (it’s my goal to nearly memorize it so I’ll feel more confident). So, at 1:00 am, I was done and I decided to put my coffee cup in the kitchen and go to bed.
And at 1:00 am, I realized my kitchen was … a … mess! See, when I’m extra busy (or feeling lazy)… or having too much fun playing (like yesterday), my housework is the first thing to go. (I guess I know it’ll wait.) So… what did I do? I stayed up an extra 30 minutes and cleaned my kitchen and then crawled into bed at 1:30 am. But you know what? When I woke up at 6:30 and went in for my coffee – my kitchen spoke to me and said, “Thank you Master”. Did you know you’re the master of your kitchen? ha! It’s nice to be a master of something!
No. I’m not going to show you a picture of my kitchen, because you all know I have an ugly kitchen… so even when it’s clean – well, it’s still ugly. (And no, I’m not ashamed of my kitchen – I’m very grateful for it! Just don’t feel the need to boast it today. ha!)

Today there is another blog that is participating in the blog book tour AND giving away two copies of He Heard Hannah! YAY! This is so much fun! Melissa at Multi-Tasking Mama posted a review of the book that blessed my heart. I love to hear how the book is touching lives.
So head over and read Melissa’s review and enter to win a book! (Even if you already pre-ordered one – you can always give it away if you win!)

Happy day to you friends!
Love,
Lynnette

Housework its always the first thing to be neglected at my house! There are just so many other things that are more fun to do!
but then I have to have catch-up days..like yesterday and today…lol. Glad yall had fun at the zoo! It’s still too cold for me to want to venture out much. bring on summer!!!
Praise God for catch up days!
Sorry the warmth hasn’t hit where you live yet. It’s cold this morning here! Can’t wait for summer!!!
Love,
Lynnette
That poor dumb turtle! (Aren’t we all a little bit like that sometimes?…doing things over and over again before we learn that it hurts us!) Anyway…glad you all enjoyed the zoo. Dad and I will need to meet ya there again sometime…that was so much fun last time we did that.
Napping outdoors is fun. I haven’t done it in awhile…but I have been sitting in the sun when the weather has been nice. (Way too windy today though!…My allergies are acting up!)
I used to stay up late and clean sometimes…you must be your mother’s daughter! (:>) But I agree…it is so nice to reap the rewards of all of your effort.
Headed over to Melissa’s blog now.
Have a glorious day!
Love, Momma
That’s what I was thinking…the definition of insanity, ha ha
Ok, I meant the turtle, of course
That turtle was probably getting an adrenaline rush! Yeah, that must be it.
But if he does it too much longer, he will definitely be dumb – brain damage! ha!!!
Have a lovely day mother-nature.
Lynnette
So I read yours and Abigail’s tweets about napping outside in Sunday and I’ve been thinking about doing that ever since! Ha Unfortunately I can’t do that in our wet and cold yard.
lol
The vid of that turtle was sooo funny! Haha! The kids commentary and giggles were fun to listen to as well. Ha!
Warmer days are not far away! I hope you get your nap outside soon!
Love,
Lynnette
PS I liked the kids commentary too! They were loving it!
So excited for you with your book!!!!
I love, love, love to wake up to a clean kitchen or even walk into the house and my kitchen is clean. My favorite room to keep clean.
Good thing because it is usually the first to get messy. LOL
Thank you for sharing in the excitement Sherri!
Here’s to waking up to a clean kitchen!!!
Love,
Lynnette
