Me and My Family… We love you!
I HATE the thought of losing over 1100 followers – and that might just happen in the next month. Here’s the deal. It has been announced that Google is going to alter who can use Google Friend Connect. They are going to TAKE PERMISSION AWAY from anyone using the widget that isn’t currently on blogger – as of March 1st. So, all of us who gained followers through that widget and aren’t on blogger will either lose those followers OR just lose the opportunity to use the widget on our website (which allows people to follow our blogs through google).
I’ve had a ton of problems with this widget defaulting to my old blogger blog (which then isn’t configured correctly). This is happening over and over again… so I think they are trying to send a message to WordPress blogs. (We don’t want you anymore. ha!) I have removed the widget so I won’t get any new subscribers that way.
By the way – those who use the Blogger Dashboard to follow blogs – “Google Friend Connect” is how you follow those blogs. As of March 1st, I may not show up in your dashboard anymore (or any other non-blogger blogs).
So, I’m asking if you will PLEASE – PRETTY PLEASE do something for me. If you follow through Google Friend Connect. Do any or all of these things because, I DON’T WANT TO LOSE TOUCH WITH YOU!!!

3. Follow me through an email subscription by typing your email address in the side bar “Subscribe by Email” (don’t forget to “confirm” by responding to email once you do this)

There are days that I truly hate how much “control” the companies of the internet have on our lives. This is one of them. You can’t get rid of me because I just love you too much!

I’m sad too. Seems strange that they wouldn’t just transfer to something else. I’m very sure I’m not the only one that’s NOT HAPPY about this.

Don’t laugh at me…I don’t even know what a widget IS! I think I actually even called it “wedget” one time. Or was it “wedgie”? Either way, since I don’t know what it is, my guess is I don’t have one. A widget OR a wedgie, just to clarify.

I stopped the “follow” widget stuff a lonnnnnng time ago. I just visit everyone on their blogs the old-fashioned way… through my favorites/bookmarks. You won’t lose me, my friend. I can’t be shaken off that easily. Ha!

Hi Lynette, I don’t understand exactly what you mean. I just google “Lynette Kraft dancing” to connect to your blog. Will I have a problem? If so which of the options you outlined should I do? I dont do twitter.

Really? Did your feed transfer when you went over? I started following yours through email. You might be surprised – there are probably people reading, just not commenting. One thing you might try is just doing a preview in your email – that way to continue reading they have to go to your blog. (That’s what I do.)
