When you think of January 1st, 2012… what comes to mind? For me? A Baby!

This 42 (then 43) year old woman is going to give birth a 10th time! (Lord willing) Oh my goodness… Talk about a shocking discovery!

I was at Wal Mart with Cecily on Saturday and while we were checking out I realized I forgot something that was on my list. So, we finished checking out, put the bags in the cart and then I said to Cecily, “Wait here, I’ll be right back.” While I was over in that section of the store I VERY RANDOMLY bought a pregnancy test. Why? I have no clue! (I wasn’t even late.) Must of had a sixth pregnancy sense. :)

When I got home I ran to the bathroom to take the test. There were two in the pack, so I was being impulsive and assuming I was just wasting that one. (Nobody knew I bought it. It was stashed away in my purse.) Considering it was several days early and the middle of the day – I thought for CERTAIN it would be negative. Surely after nearly four years of no pregnancy I wouldn’t be pregnant. I’d pretty much come to terms with my womb being closed and have been completely at peace with that.

So after taking the test, I sat and waited for a second and then I saw the results but realized I forgot to see how to read them. I was looking for a + sign, but saw a – sign so thought, Well, it’s negative. Then I realized I better make sure I was reading it right. The box revealed the test was positive if there was a line in the circle and negative if there was nothing in the circle. There WAS a line in the circle! Barely, but it was there! I began to shake and get nervous like I’ve done all other 9 pregnancies. Just that, Oh my gosh! nervous feeling.

I didn’t run out and tell anybody because they were all doing different things and Kyle was finishing up band practice.

So, after a couple of hours (mulling it all around in my head, in complete shock, happy, dazed, DYING to tell!!) I said to the family (who were all together in the living eating hamburgers off the grill), “I have something to tell you. See, when I was at Wal Mart I very randomly bought a pregnancy test and totally expected it to be negative, but… I shrugged my shoulders and smiled sheepishly. They all freaked out as much as I did! In a happy way of course. :) Harrison said, “I’m having a baby!?” and then (after some explanation), “So, you’re going to get fat and then have the baby and then be skinny again?” I’m so excited for all of us!

The funniest part of the whole story is that Kyle and I were on a date just Friday night making jokes about our (lack of) fertility. We were laughing our heads off having a dramatic (old) sperm and (shriveled) egg conversation. Oh my goodness! What timing!!!

On a serious note…

We’ve always received God’s blessings willingly and with abundant joy. God has given us 9… now 10 children. Samuel, Josiah and Anna now live with Jesus in Heaven. Jared, Abigail, Cecily, Silas, Jonas and Harrison live here with us. The tenth Kraft child lives in my womb waiting to be born. I give God glory and rejoice in the beautiful family I don’t deserve. What precious gifts they all are!

It was just about 2 weeks ago I asked God if he might give me just one more child. I praised him and told him I was perfectly content and grateful if his answer was “No”. I thanked him for all the children he has given me, and I rested… I was perfectly at peace either way. And here I am… pregnant. God said, “Yes”.

Will you offer God praise on our behalf? I’m just overwhelmed with this blessing…whatever sex, whatever shape or form… I receive this blessing with a heart of gratitude. Thank you Jesus!!!
